New community will be built along brand new subway line in Toronto [Video]

Over 200 new homes and dozens of new jobs have been envisioned near a stop on a brand new Toronto subway line that will run from east to west. 

Today, the province announced that it has officially launched an open market process to find a building partner to help create a transit-oriented community at the Ontario Line’s Queen-Spadina station. 

The news comes days after the province announced that it broke ground on the Ontario Line’s Queen Station (not to be confused with the Queen-Spadina station). 

Once complete, the new 15.6-kilometre subway line will run from Exhibition Place in the west end, through Toronto’s downtown core, to the Line 5 Eglinton at Don Mills Road. The line will include 15 new stations, including multiple stops in the east end (Moss Park Station, Corktown Station, East Harbour Station, Riverside-Leslieville Station, Gerrard Station, Pape Station, to name a few).
