The search for two Orleans Parish jail escaped inmates has now entered its 20th day, making it one of the longest escapes and searches in modern U.S. history. Note: Video above shows search efforts for escaped Dannemora inmates Ten years ago, in Dannemora, New York, a prison escape lasted 22 days before two convicted murderers were killed and captured near the Canadian-U.S. border. They broke out on June 6, and it didn’t end until June 28. The escape made national headlines and was the result of an inside job, which led to charges and convictions for prison workers. The FBI, hundreds of local law enforcement agencies, and police in Canada participated in the manhunt.
