New partnership to provide educational support for Canadian nuclear host group [Video]

A week after signing a partnership deal with nuclear supplier companies the Bowmanville-based Canadian Association of Host Nuclear Communities (CANH) has signed a memorandum of understanding with the University Network of Excellence in Nuclear Engineering to enhance collaboration and educational support for nuclear host and potential host communities across Canada.

The agreement marks a “significant step” toward strengthening the resources, expertise, and networks available to municipalities involved in Canada’s nuclear sector, said Clarington Mayor Adrian Foster, who chairs the CANH.

“This partnership with UNENE aligns with CANHC’s mission to advocate for the interests of nuclear host communities and provide them with the tools needed to make informed decisions,” Foster noted. “By working together, we can enhance community awareness, education, and engagement, ensuring that local governments and residents have access to reliable information and expertise in the nuclear field.”
