After a massive system moved through southern Ontario on Wednesday into Thursday, bringing with it snow, freezing rain and rain, a new weather advisory is in effect for part of the region.
Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement stretching from part of the GTA, north to the Orillia and Peterborough areas.
The statement is for strong wind gusts Thursday afternoon.
“An unstable airmass may bring a few hours of strong wind gusts up to 80 km/h this afternoon,” Environment Canada said.
Damage to tree branches and utility interruptions are possible following the recent freezing rain and rain, the weather agency said. Loose objects could be tossed around.
Warm temperatures have also moved into the region.
It was 20 C at Toronto Pearson Airport Thursday afternoon.
