Here’s what you need to know about what’s open and closed in the GTA on Jan. 1, New Year’s Day.

Shopping malls

Most major shopping malls will be closed on New Year’s Day. However, there are a few centres that will remain open on the holiday:

  • Toronto Eaton Centre, 220 Yonge St., from 12 to 7 p.m.
  • Toronto Premium Outlets, 13850 Steeles Ave., from 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Pacific Mall, 4300 Steeles Ave. E, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Vaughan Mills, 1 Bass Pro Mills Dr., from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Tourist attractions

If you’re looking for something to do New Year’s Day, select tourist attractions will be open to the public.

The CN Tower, Ripley’s Aquarium, Casa Loma and both the Toronto and High Park zoos will be open Jan. 1.

Riverdale Farm will also be open for the day, as well as the Allan Gardens and Centennial Park conservatories.
