Robertson, 23, was called up from the minors to provide defensive depth for the Rangers’ playoff push.

NEW YORK CITY, N.Y. — The New York Rangers recalled defenseman Matthew Robertson from the AHL’s Hartford Wolf Pack on Wednesday. 

Robertson, 23, has recorded 18 points (1 goal, 17 assists) in 47 games with Hartford this season, just one assist shy of his career-high 18 set in the 2022-23 campaign.

A native of Edmonton, Alberta, Robertson has tallied 73 career points (11 goals, 62 assists) in 237 AHL games, all with the Wolf Pack. Despite consistent development in the AHL, he has yet to make his NHL debut, although he has appeared with the Rangers during the preseason. 

Robertson, selected 49th overall by the Rangers in the second round of the 2019 NHL Draft, has improved since his junior hockey days with the Edmonton Oil Kings of the WHL. His physical, shutdown-style play has earned him recognition …
