BOONVILLE, N.Y. — In Boonville this weekend, there’s no business, like snow business. Thousands of people from all over the Northeast and Canada are expected to show up at the Snowmobile Capital of the East for the Boonville Snow Festival II.

The festival kicked off Friday at the Boonville Fairgrounds with a torchlight parade and fireworks, but the main attraction kicked off Saturday.

Vintage and pro-circuit ice oval snowmobile racing, with some of the top racers competing for bragging rights in the Adirondack Cup. There was also a vintage snowmobile show for those who were feeling a little nostalgic.

All this means big bucks for Boonville and the surrounding area.

“The money that we bring in here in Oneida County, not just Boonville, is substantial,” says Boonville Snow Festival Treasurer, Susan Alger. “We have people coming from as far away as Canada, Pennsylvania, and Ohio. We have them coming from all over the country to come here and …
