Sunshine State Sonar uncovered a Lincoln Continental that matches the description of the car driven by Charles and Catherine Romer when they disappeared in 1980.

BRUNSWICK, Ga. — A nonprofit search uncovered a possible break in a decades old cold case in Glynn County.

Glynn County Police are searching a car found at the bottom of a retention pond that matches the description of one a New York couple was last seen in before they disappeared in 1980.

Glynn County Police said they found a human bone, but they haven’t identified who it belongs to yet.

Investigators were able to climb down into the pond Monday to look for more clues in and around the car after a crew spent three days pumping most of the water out.

“I came into it like, ‘Wow. This kind of stuff can be seen from Google Earth,'” said Shelly McKinney with Sunshine State …
