BANGOR, Maine (WABI) – Experts in the logging industry from across the U-S and Canada are in Bangor this weekend for the Northeastern Forest Products Equipment Expo.
The annual forestry expo, organized by the Northeastern Loggers’ Association, alternates between Bangor and Essex Junction, Vermont, each year.
185 exhibitors from forestry equipment dealers to firewood processors and more are in attendance.
The latest tractors and logging equipment are on display.
There will also be performances by the Axe Women Loggers of Maine.
The all-female team will be chopping, axe throwing, and log rolling.
Organizers say they love hosting this event in the Queen City.
“We kind of feel like it’s the forestry-logging capital of the northeast,” said Kristin Armdendola of the Northeastern Loggers’ Association. “It’s a great centralized location for us, and we always have a great time here. Come out and see the live demonstrations. We have lots of stuff going on. We have food trucks. It’s fun for all ages.”
