Former Brampton MP and recently-ejected Liberal Party leadership candidate Ruby Dhalla says she’s pushing to be let back into the contest ahead of the first of two debates on Monday.
“Appeal filed,” Dhalla said in a post on social media on Sunday following a unanimous Liberal Party committee decision to kick her from the race on Friday, saying she’s trying to get back into the race “for the millions of Canadians who believe in democracy, free speech, and fair elections.”
Dhalla reportedly faced 12 allegations which included accepting donations from a corporation in the form of payments to campaign staff.
