WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – Roughly 80,000 people under the age of 18 live in New Hanover, Brunswick and Pender counties. Some of those children and teenagers will need a surgical procedure during their childhood and Southeastern North Carolina offers unique opportunities.

Dr. Christian Walters, a pediatric surgeon with Novant Health, was in studio to answer questions about common pediatric surgeries performed locally.
