Toronto and GTA residents who have long dreamed of renting a loft-style apartment with soaring ceilings might be interested to learn that an office building in North York is about to be radically transformed.

Recently, the Amexon Development Corporation announced that it’s converting a 15-storey office building in the Eglinton Ave. E. and Don Mills Road area into a contemporary loft-style rental residence. 

Located at 250 Ferrand Drive, e-lofts will be designed in collaboration with CORE Architects and  II BY IV DESIGN and will take shape close to the Don River parklands and, once complete, will offer residents easy access to the new Eglinton Crosstown LRT, the future Ontario Line subway and the Aga Khan Museum. 

A news release describes the suites themselves as loft-style units with 12-foot floor-to-ceiling windows, polished concrete floors, exposed spiral ductwork, and structural elements for an “industrial-chic aesthetic.” 

According to UrbanToronto, the building will boast 331 units.
