OGUNQUIT, Maine — Ogunquit Playhouse is kicking off a new season with a production of “Come From Away,” a musical inspired by the true story of a small town in Newfoundland that housed, fed, and cared for thousands of stranded airline passengers in the immediate aftermath of the 9/11 attacks.
It’s a show with a lot of heart, and this particular production asks a lot of its cast members. Every one of them has to play an instrument at some point—or several points—while on stage.
“I just think it makes sense with the style of the music and the way in which the story is told, and also the culture of that Canadian community,” actor Liz Pearce said.
