Olathe woman injured after Lees Summit vehicle tailgates SUV along K-10 [Video]

LAWRENCE, Kan. (KCTV) – An Olathe woman was injured in a collision on K-10 southwest of Lawrence after a Lee’s Summit vehicle tailgated and then rear-ended an SUV.

The Douglas County, Kansas, Sheriff’s Office says that around 3:50 p.m. on Friday, July 26, emergency crews were called to the area of K-10 and Wakarusa Dr., along the South Lawrence Trafficway near the Clinton Lake Youth Sports Complex, with reports of a 2-vehicle collision.

When first responders arrived, they said they found a 2005 Chevrolet Tahoe driven by a Lee’s Summit woman had been tailgating a 2024 GMC Yukon driven by an Olathe woman.

As the Yukon began to slow, the Sheriff’s Office said the Tahoe hit it from behind. The Olathe woman in the Yukon was taken to a Topeka area hospital with unknown injuries as a result.
