Omaha cancer patients enjoy watching expectant bird couple [Video]

Frank the goose nearly followed staff nurse Stacey Tevis inside Nebraska Medicine’s Cancer Center at Village Pointe Health Center on Tuesday.

The Canada goose knows his name and recognizes Tevis, who has been feeding Frank and his partner, Grace.

“I’m kind of like Grandma Goose out here,” Tevis said.

A Canada goose nicknamed Grace laid six eggs in a planter on the roof at Nebraska Medicine’s Cancer Center at Village Pointe Health Center.

To the delight of visitors, Frank and Grace returned in February to lay six eggs in a planter on the second-floor patio of the cancer center. The patio is surrounded by patient rooms, so people have a front-row seat to view Grace and her eggs.

Tevis is expecting the eggs to hatch in about two weeks.
