One person has died following a two-vehicle collision in Sackville, N.B., Friday.
At approximately 11:30 a.m., Sackville RCMP, Sackville Fire Department, the Department of Transportation and Infrastructure, Department of Justice and Public Safety and Ambulance New Brunswick responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision on Route 940 in Upper Sackville.
RCMP believe the crash occurred when a northbound vehicle crossed the centreline and collided with a southbound vehicle, said a Friday news release.
The driver of the first vehicle, a 77-year-old man from Midgic, N.B., died at the scene from injuries. The driver and occupant of the second vehicle were transported to hospital with what were believed to be minor injuries.
An RCMP traffic reconstructionist and a member of the New Brunswick coroner’s office are assisting with the ongoing investigation. An autopsy is scheduled to determine the exact cause of death.
