ELLSWORTH — A man who put his boots on the ground at the edge of northern Canada says he isn’t stopping until he breaks two things: the 27,000 kilometer mark and the stigma surrounding mental health.
Marcus Jefferson is now in Maine and we caught up with him on his day off to help share is story.
“We are the narrator of our life and sometimes we’re giving the wrong narrative,” said Jefferson.
Jefferson, a Windsor, Ontario, Canada native and a veteran of the French Foreign Legion is on a mission. Both on foot, and in the world of raising awareness for mental health.
He began on April 17, 2023 in Tuktoyaktuk, Canada. Using ultradistance marching, he traveled down to Vancouver, then across to Newfoundland and Labrador by using the Trans Canada Trail and Highway, and entered the U.S. through Maine. On him, is only survival gear, which includes a tent, stove, …
