The South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police are advising the public of an increased police presence in Greenock Township, north of Chepstow, for an ongoing investigation.

OPP say their West Region Emergency Response Team, West Region K-9 Unit, and Aviation Unit responded to an incident on Schmidt Lake Road just after 2 p.m. Saturday.

Police did not provide any details about the incident, who was involved or if anyone was hurt.

“Officers interacted with an individual and have now taken that same individual safely into custody,” police said in a media release. “Members of the public will see an increased police presence in the area mentioned above, however, there is no threat to public safety.”

Police say the investigation is ongoing and more details will be released as they become available.
