Oneida Nations annual Missing & Murdered Women Walk on Saturday [Video]

ONEIDA NATION, Wis. (WBAY) – Indigenous people across the country this week are calling for a response to violence in their communities.

This past Monday was Missing and Murdered Indigenous Persons Awareness Day.

Federal data show indigenous women are more than twice as likely to be homicide victims than the national average and that more than four in five indigenous women say they have experienced violence in their lifetime.

This weekend, the Oneida Nation will hold their annual missing and murdered indigenous women walk.
