Police have arrested an Ontario cab driver in connection to an ongoing investigation surrounding the sexual assault of a 14-year-old girl.
A release by the East Algoma OPP Detachment revealed that the suspect in connection with the incident was arrested in the City of Elliot Lake, west of Sudbury, on Feb. 10 at 5 a.m.
According to law enforcement, on Feb. 7 a family member of a local 14-year-old girl had reported that she had not returned home from school.
After an investigation was launched, police allege that the girl was picked up on her school premises by a male driving a grey pickup truck.
When the victim returned home, she informed police that the alleged suspect was a known cab driver who used to drive her to school in the area.
