The Canadian province of Ontario has celebrated three years of regulated online casino gaming. The province launched online gambling on April 4, 2022, and has since expanded the market.

Ontario has had online gaming for three years now, with the total number of operators growing to 49. These companies currently operate a total of 84 gaming platforms, demonstrating the market’s rapid growth following the regulation of gaming.

However, Ontario’s iGaming market wasn’t always so big. At launch, there were 17 licensed websites. Since then, the market has experienced tremendous growth. Experts compared the wagering figures recorded in April 2022 to those in February 2025, highlighting a staggering growth in bets and revenue.

For comparison, Ontarians wagered CAD 1 billion in April 2022, resulting in CAD 43.9 million in non-adjusted GGR. This February, on the other hand, the handle came at CAD 7.1 billion, resulting in CAD 280.1 million in non-adjusted GGR.
