Gunfire inside an Oshawa residence has landed an Oshawa man behind bars and facing a total of 15 weapons charges, including three counts of reckless use of a firearm.
Durham Regional Police responded to multiple calls for gun shots near Montrave Avenue and Hillside Avenue just after 3 a.m. Monday and arrived at the scene to find Eric Jones, 43, walking on a nearby street carrying a rifle.
He was arrested without incident and police said their investigation revealed Jones had discharged “multiple rounds” while inside the home.
Jones is charged with possession of a dangerous weapon, three counts of firing a gun “being reckless to the life or safety of another,” nine counts of careless use of a firearm and two counts of possession of a restricted weapon.
He was held for a bail hearing.
He was also charged with possession a schedule 1 drug.
