Police are looking for Prateek Mann.

A man who has been in detention in Toronto has escaped a mental health facility and is now wanted by police.

Prateek Mann, 33, was last seen today (June 9) at approximately 10 a.m., near the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) in the Queen Street and Ossington Avenue area of Toronto.

Toronto Police say Mann is 6-foot, 250 lbs, balding with short hair, a full black beard, and an athletic build. He was last seen wearing a black and white toque, a black shirt with a zippered sweater on top, black pants, and grey shoes with white soles.

“If located, do not approach and call 911 immediately,” police said in a released statement.

In 2021, Mann was charged with attempted murder after his mother was stabbed in their Brampton home.

He was eventually committed to the facility after being found not criminally responsible for aggravated assault.
