Ontario mayors showing solidarity in face of U.S. economic tariffs [Video]

Canada is smack dab in the middle of a trade war and Durham Region’s political leaders made it clear they fully support retaliatory tariffs imposed by Ottawa.

The mayors and Durham Chair John Henry came together as a show of solidarity for both the federal government’s actions and local business in Durham during the Donald Trump-imposed tariff battle.

The U.S. President threatened 25 per cent tariffs (and also did his best to antagonize Canada with threats of ‘51st state’ annexation) immediately after taking office and while he initially put a one-month hold on the tariffs, that moratorium has expired and the 25 per cent tariffs on Canadian imports (ten per cent on energy) was back on the table.
