The magical run of Whitby trivia star Juveria Zaheer at the Jeopardy! Masters tournament continued Tuesday night, with the CAMH and University of Toronto psychiatrist and mental health advocate earning 17,061 points in her quarter-final match to win her group and qualify third for the semi-finals.

The final Jeopardy clue that sent Zaheer off to the semis was in the category ‘British History’:

When New Amsterdam was taken by the British, he was in the throne of England but the city was renamed for his brother.

What is Charles II?

Both Zaheer and runner-up Matt Amodio guessed correctly, with Zaheer earning the win and Amodio losing out on a tie-breaker to Isaac Hirsch from the other quarter-final for the fourth and final semi-final spot.

Pittsburgh writer Victoria Groce and Vancouver, Washington’s Yogesh Raut – last year’s Tournament of Champions winner – qualified first and second in the quarter-finals.
