The OPP have released a video as they continue to investigate the assault of an 80-year-old woman after a minor collision on the Salem Road ramp to eastbound Highway 401 on April 23.

The woman was in critical condition at a Toronto trauma centre after the attack and OPP Sgt. Kerry Schmidt, who called the incident a “terrible assault,” is hoping the public can help find the man responsible for the attack.

The suspect, who fled the scene, is described as 20-35 years old, with long black hair and tattoos on his arms and chest and wearing a corduroy-style beige cap.  He was driving a white or light beige sedan which may be damaged by the collision.

The victim is recovering in hospital and police are asking for any information “to bring this incident to a close” to call the Whitby OPP detachment at (905) 668-3388.
