How Canadian communities are dealing with safety issues like organized crime and auto would be some of the issues covered at a national public safety summit that could be coming to Brampton.
On Wednesday, Brampton City Council passed a motion with the support of Peel Regional Police calling for a National Public Safety Summit.
The event would bring municipal leaders and law enforcement officials together in Brampton to share lessons learned on community safety issues and initiatives that could help other Canadian cities and towns.
Planning for the summit is being spearheaded by Coun. Rowena Santos, who says the event will “unite leaders to develop a coordinated national response to escalating organized crime, auto theft, bail reform, guns and gangs, violent crime, border enforcement, and emergency communications.”
