Nearly $110,000 in funding has been presented to fund programming space for people with disabilities in Windsor-Essex.
On Friday, MPP Lisa Gretzky met with the Learning Disabilities Association of Windsor-Essex (LDAWE) to see how they put their $109,800 Capital Grant from the Ontario Trilliam Foundation (OTF) to use.
The funding helped to expand the association’s facilities, creating an additional 1,700 ft. of space for programming.
“I am delighted to be able to congratulate the Learning Disabilities Association of Windsor-Essex for this well-deserved Capital grant from OTF,” said Lisa Gretzky, MPP for Windsor West. “I know they have put it to good use expanding and reconfiguring their programming space to better accommodate the youth with disabilities they support.”
The expansion of the space will increase programming availability for youth with disabilities – creating four classrooms in addition to the facilities initial single classroom, as well as creating additional accessible bathrooms.
