The cold temperatures will continue in Ottawa through the weekend and into next week, which is good news for people hoping to skate on the Rideau Canal Skateway.
The National Capital Commission announced that the skateway will open to the public at 8 a.m. on Saturday, the earliest opening of the world’s largest skateway since December 2018. The Rideau Canal Skateway will be open between Somerset Street and Bank Street.
