Environment Canada says to expect periods about 2 to 4 centimetres of snow in Ottawa this afternoon.

A winter weather advisory was in effect during the afternoon commute but was later lifted. Heavy snow continues to fall on downtown Ottawa

Officials urge drivers to adjust to changing road conditions.

Environment Canada says the snow will move out of the area by early this evening.

As of 8 a.m. this morning, 3 cm of snow had been recorded at the Ottawa Airport.
