Ottawa weather: Forecast calls for cold temperatures to grip Ottawa this weekend [Video]

A cold first weekend of 2025 is in the forecast for Ottawa, which could be good news for people hoping for cold weather to help freeze the Rideau Canal Skateway.

Environment Canada’s forecast calls for temperatures to drop to -16 C Friday night and -19 C Saturday night, and temperatures to hover around seasonal over the next week.

The normal temperatures for this time of year are a high of -6 C and a low of -15 C.
