Ottawa weather: Freezing rain warning in effect this Saturday [Video]

Environment Canada says a freezing rain warning is in effect for Ottawa this Saturday.

The weather agency issued the warning Friday afternoon. It anticipates patchy, light freezing rain beginning late Saturday morning, turning into freezing drizzle in the afternoon. 

“Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery,” reads the warning.

“Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions.”

After some cold days and nights this past week, warmer weather is on the way.

Environment Canada calls for a high of -2 C with periods of freezing rain this Saturday. 

Sunday will have a high of 7 C and a 30 per cent chance of showers or drizzle. A low of 4 C and periods of rain are expected for the night.
