For the second consecutive year, robberies have risen in the Peel region, with Mississauga and Brampton experiencing an average of two or more incidents per day over the past 12 months.

From Jan. 1 to Dec. 21, 2024, Peel Regional Police data indicates that there were a combined 961 robberies reported across both cities, with Mississauga accounting for 480 and Brampton for 481 — nearly a 50-50 split.
Compared to last year (2023), Brampton saw a higher number of robberies than Mississauga, with 396 incidents in Brampton versus 334 in Mississauga.
