The Prince Edward Island RCMP is asking for the public’s help after a “significant” amount of copper was reportedly stolen from a construction site in Stratford.

Police say the theft happened at the site of the new high school on John Joe Sark Drive.

About $10,000 worth of copper piping was cut sometime between Monday and Tuesday, according to an RCMP news release.

Police are asking anyone with information to call the Queens District RCMP at 902-368-9300 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
