P.K. Subban returns to city to pick up donations for Montreal Children’s Hospital [Video]

P.K. Subban was back in Montreal to pick up donations for the Montreal Children’s Hospital.

Normally, 40 per cent of donations to the Montreal Children’s Hospital Foundation come through the mail, but with the ongoing Canada Post labour dispute those haven’t come in.

So, Friday afternoon the former Habs player grabbed a donation box and started visiting people and companies that support the charitable foundation.

“I have been working out nonstop for three years, nonstop. I have been eating my vegetables; no one will get their hands on this box. I will see this gets to the right people, to all the children safely,” Subban said. “See you soon. Thank you very much.”

In 2015, Subban pledged to raise $10 million for the hospital, and as part of that commitment, each holiday season he matches donations from the community dollar-for-dollar up to $25,000. To date, the Children’s says his foundation has raised $6.3 million.
