London’s palace theatre has boarded up two entrances for the holidays because of recent damage.

It started with a break-in last week while employees were working. A $1,000 keyboard was stolen and the broken door will take a thousand dollars to repair.

Staff have needed to clean regularly because of soot and smoke getting inside. They say it’s been an ongoing struggle to keep the facility operating smoothly.

In the new year management plans to install gates on the entrances that are approved for the heritage building.

The Palace Theatre houses and supports several theatre companies and festivals, including the London Community Players which will be celebrating their 50th anniversary in early 2025.This week the fire department was called three times in a 24-hour span to put out fires at the front doors.
