A mix of rain, cloudy and sun are in the forecast this weekend in southern Ontario.

Those hoping to get out and see peak cherry blossoms may want to hold off until Sunday.

The stormy weather rolling in on Thursday switches to rain and cloudy skies on Friday.

Cloudy weather with a 30 per cent chance of showers, fog patches and a high of around 18 C is expected on Friday in Toronto, Mississauga, Brampton, Halton Region and Durham Region, according to Environment and Climate Change Canada.

It could cool to a low of 7 C on Friday night.

On Saturday, more rain is forecast. It will be cloudy with a 30 per cent chance of showers. A high of 13 C is forecast, dropping down to 5 C in the evening.

The best day of the weekend will likely be Sunday.

A mix of sun and cloud with a high of 14 C is forecast during the day.
