Pedestrian airlifted after serious crash in Abbotsford [Video]

A 20-year-old pedestrian is in hospital with life-threatening injuries after being struck by a vehicle in Abbotsford Friday morning.

Police were called to the intersection of Townline and Upper Maclure roads around 11:10 a.m. for a report of a collision involving a pedestrian, the Abbotsford Police Department said in a news release.

When they arrived, first responders found that a single vehicle had struck the pedestrian, who was crossing at the intersection.

The victim was airlifted to hospital in critical condition, according to BC Emergency Health Services, which said it dispatched four ambulances and a helicopter to the scene.

Abbotsford police spokesperson Sgt. Paul Walker told reporters at the scene that the van struck the pedestrian, and that the driver had remained at the scene and is co-operating …
