A man in his 50s is dead after he was struck by a TTC bus while leaving Ossington subway station on Tuesday night.
Police say a TTC bus exited the station, located near Bloor Street and Ossington Avenue, at around 8:30 p.m. and made a righthand turn to go south on Ossington.
According to police, the bus driver struck the man, who became pinned under the right side of the bus. He was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries but later died.
“Efforts are underway by the coroner’s office and police to confirm the identity of the deceased,” police said in a news release issued Wednesday.
In a statement released Wednesday, ATU Local 113, the union representing TTC operators, offered condolences to the family and loved ones of the victim.
