A woman was hit while she was crossing Highway 401 in Milton.

The 21-year-old woman and her 22-year-old companion were attempting to cross the westbound lanes of Highway 401 at Tremain Road on Wednesday around 7:40 p.m., OPP said on X.

The woman was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, OPP Sgt. Kerry Schmidt told INsauga.com.

Schmidt said vehicle remained on scene.

The investigation continues and no charges have been laid.
