A pedestrian had their leg torn off and left in the middle of the road in a ‘hit-and-run’ crash in Bradford.

Footage shows someone lying near a Pelican crossing on Halifax Road in Buttershaw, Bradford, as a group of men rush to their aid around 8pm yesterday.

The severed lower leg can be seen just metres away left in the middle of the road.

Images posted on X show police cordoning off the crossing which was near a Tesco supermarket.

Debris, including a shoe, can be seen gathered inside the cordon.

A forensics team can also be seen arriving at the scene.

Locals said the crash was ‘horrendous’.

West Yorkshire Police have been contacted for comment.

In London a 16-year-old girl was rushed to hospital yesterday after being hit by a police car.

The incident happened on Bow Road outside the Central Foundation Girls’ School at 12.55pm yesterday.
