A pedestrian is dead after they were struck by a vehicle in North York Thursday morning.

A pedestrian is dead after they were struck by a vehicle in North York Thursday morning.

Police said it happened near the westbound Highway 401 off ramp at Keele Street just before 7 a.m., though it’s unclear where exactly the incident took place.

The pedestrian, who paramedics say was a man in his 30s, was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries. In an update, police said he later died.

The driver of the vehicle involved remained at the scene.

Road in the area were closed as police investigated, but have since re-opened.

An investigation is underway.
