A federal complaint alleged Labrador-Sierra claimed to be a homeless immigrant from Venezuela and a victim of human trafficking.

TOLEDO, Ohio — The person accused of posing as a teenaged Perrysburg High School student — while in reality he was allegedly a 24-year-old — appeared in federal court Tuesday afternoon. 

Labrador-Sierra was booked into the Lucas County jail Tuesday morning ahead of his federal court appearance.

Dressed in an orange Lucas County jail jumpsuit, Labrador-Sierra appeared in federal court before Judge Darrell A. Clay Tuesday afternoon. 

He smiled several times at his appointed attorney. He then waived his right to a preliminary hearing, then reserved his right for a detention hearing, meaning he will be returned to the Wood County Jail until the resolution of his charges or until a detention hearing.
