Phase 2 of the city’s parking ban began at 7 a.m. Tuesday morning for snow clearing in residential neighbourhoods.
Crews will be removing snow in neighbourhoods Monday through Friday, 24 hours a day. The ban is expected to last 10 to 14 days, depending on weather.
“Each neighbourhood is banned for about 72 hours in order to give crews time to clear the residential roads of ruts and divots that have resulted from the snowfalls,” said Valerie Dacyk, general supervisor of infrastructure field operations with the City of Edmonton Tuesday morning.
People are asked to park in their driveway, garage or any roadway that’s been cleared where parking is normally allowed.
