Plea deal expected for accused child abductor from Brampton: reports [Video]

The Brampton man charged with abducting a 14-year-old boy from an Ontario town is expected to make a plea deal and won’t go to trial, according to reports.

The charges come from an incident in August, 2023 described as “bizarre” by the OPP where a 9-year-old boy was approached by a man in the small town of Thessalon, approximately 90 kilometres southeast of Sault Ste. Marie.

Police said the man driving a yellow 2011 Chevrolet Camaro offered the child a toy “as a way to entice him into the car” and took off with the child inside.

A Good Samaritan who knows the child witnessed the incident and contacted the boy’s parents, who then went looking for the vehicle and the missing boy.
