Montreal police (SPVM) arrested three suspects in connection with the theft of an SUV that occurred in October in the Villeray-Saint-Michel-Parc-Extension borough.
The suspects, aged 18 and 19, were arrested on Wednesday. A police search conducted the same day led to the seizure of evidence.
According to police, around 12 p.m. on Oct. 23, the suspects allegedly stole a vehicle from l’Esplanade Avenue. Two hours later, they reportedly parked the stolen car in Place de la Colombière in the Ahuntsic-Cartierville borough.
“A few minutes later, a patrol car arrived at the scene. One of the suspects quickly retrieved an object from inside the vehicle, and the three men ran off,” police said.
Two of the individuals appeared at the Montreal courthouse on Wednesday to face multiple charges, including theft of a motor vehicle, possession of burglary tools and receiving stolen property.
