Police said the officer is expected to be okay.

TOLEDO, Ohio — A Toledo police officer is expected to be okay following a crash in north Toledo overnight into New Year’s Day.

Toledo police responded to a crash on Cherry Street near Central Avenue overnight, where authorities said the driver of a white Yukon collided with the TPD cruiser.

The officer was taken to the hospital to be examined but is expected to be okay, police said. The driver of the Yukon was not injured, police told WTOL 11.

Authorities could not say if they believed alcohol played a factor in the crash.

A part of Cherry Street was temporarily blocked off while police investigated.
