A newborn baby was found outside a woman’s home in Canada this week, authorities said.
On Wednesday, April 9, a concerned citizen called police after discovering the child was left on the porch of a residence in London, Ontario, the London Police said in a news release.
The baby was taken to the hospital by paramedics and is said to currently be in good health, per police. The investigation into the case is ongoing.
In an update on Friday, April 11, police said the mother of the newborn had been found.
“We would like to thank the public for their compassion and engagement in this situation. Thankfully, everyone is safe,” Detective Inspector Sean Travis said in a statement. “As the investigation progresses, we will be limited in what information can be provided to respect the privacy of everyone involved.”
