Kids have options in life and not all of them are good, prompting Durham Police to launch ‘Operation Freeze to reward positive youth behaviour.
With the warm weather in full swing, youth in Durham Region might find themselves getting a cool reward for doing the right thing, with officers on the lookout for kids demonstrating “positive behaviour and community spirit” and rewarding them with coupons for a free Froster from Circle K stores.
Whether it’s wearing a bike helmet, picking up litter, lending a hand, or simply showing kindness, youth who make positive choices may be surprised with a cool treat, said Durham Police Chief Peter Moreira, who called Operation Freeze is a “fun and engaging” way for officers to connect with young community members.
