Police investigate discovery of dead woman along highway near Valleyview [Video]

Police are looking for information about the body of a woman found dead Saturday morning along a highway in north-central Alberta.

RCMP in a media release Sunday said officers in Valleyview received a report at 6:30 a.m. of a 34-year-old woman dead on the edge of Highway 43 between Sturgeon Lake Cree Nation and the town of about 1,700 located 298 kilometres northwest of Edmonton.

Anyone who travelled on Highway 43 at Sturgeon Lake Cree Nation between 5:30 a.m. and 6:30 a.m. on Saturday and those who may have dash-camera footage is asked to contact police in Valleyview at 780-524-3343 or anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or online through P3 Tips.
